I moved into a new place at the beginning of the year which is pretty set up for gardening. It already had a raised bed and some form of citrus tree in the front yard. The previous tenants had obviously neglected these areas (the vegetable patch was covered in ~30cm of grass clippings) but there is still the basic structure and, once we do a bit of work around the house, there is a lot of potential to get it nice again. This blog is to document what I plant and when so I can repeat successes and (try) to avoid failures.
I have dabbled in gardening before but with limited success. I tend to get all excited about gardening and start planting seeds or seedlings but then get distracted and forget to weed or water. I finally notice when the plants start looking incredibly sad and then I jump into action and water log the soil with my attempts to bring the poor things back to life. It looks ok here but honestly it was pretty destroyed before we got in

About this blogThis is a diary of my garden and a record of the successes and "learning opportunities" that gardening brings. With a focus on edible plants that grow in central Queensland (sub tropical with occasional frost in winter) I am using it to track when I plant/harvest and how the different plants grow Archives
