So the last attempt was a bit of a disaster but I really want to be able to grow plants from seed. It opens up a lot more possibilities for different species, staggering the planting and is a lot more economical as well.
There were two main problems with the last attempt
- I didn't know what was plant and what was weed
- The birds picked up the seeds as soon as they were in the ground
I think getting the plants a little bigger before I plant them out might help on both fronts and so I tried sprouting some lettuce and some of the seeds they gave us at the community garden in my mung bean grower that sits on the kitchen counter and...I am feeling pretty positive about the results so far!!

9,10,11 and 12 I planted out some of the sprouts and in cardboard pots I put tomato-harvest in 10 weeks
