Two zucchinis picked, snow pea and tomato flowering and the lettuce is growing well. Also, planted a celery base- the internet tells me that it might grow but if it just rots that won't be too bad for the garden either

I got impatient with the seeds I planted last week and decided to go for some seedlings as well. Hopefully seeing something growing will inspire me to keep up with the watering/ weeding. We also stopped in at the community garden and they showed us around, fed us a bunch of leaves and gave us some cuttings.
Today we planted:
Tomorrow we set up an irrigation system... Finally got the vegetable patch cleaned up and in a state ready for planting. Two full trailer loads to the dump as well as a number of full wheelie bins in the last couple of weeks. Phew! I managed to do about a 1/3rd in the evenings after work and then Liam finished it off last week. We got a bunch of Diggers seeds from Mum and Dad for christmas. Unfortunately, with the move, we have missed the deadline for planting some of them but there are enough to get us started. Today we planted:

THe snow peas are going gangbusters but only one of the lettuces seeds started growing and no signs of anything else. I think I might have pulled up a few though thinking they were weeds. I might need to re-think this strategy. |
